Mother/Moon is a 13 piece audio/visual journey to the moon through symbology, archetype and visual poetry. Part of an extended project to create sound and visual work for the planetary bodies of our solar system. Filmed mostly at my ancestral home, immediately after my Grandfather's passing: Cleethorpes, UK. Capturing the dramatic tidal beach that reveals the ocean floor and ebbs and flows with the power of the moon. Here, I capture the deep symbolism of the moon; the mother, the womb, the woman's reproductive system, the crab, the astrological sign of cancer and in Kabbalah, Yesod. A visual study and expression of what lies beyond the physical appearance of planets and an investigation into what lies within. My hope is that the audience can connect to this work somewhere beyond linear storytelling, commercial music consumption and spiritual practice.
